![]() Shortly after having them, a bonded pair of stray dogs showed up in her yard. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee when she was 20, and while there became a mother to her identical twin daughters Mariah and Makenna. Jessica is originally from Columbus, and has always rescued animals – she can remember, at around age 5, “rescuing” earthworms after a rainstorm! After high school graduation she was going to become a veterinarian, but life had other plans. She also has a love for Alpacas and volunteers on an Alpaca farm when she has the chance. Marathon in the spring of 2023 was her 30th overall! Her dogs and cats (the number, breeds, and ages vary) are adopted from either a shelter or a rescue. She works full time as a Store Inventory Planner during the week, and on weekends can be found volunteering as a RVT at the Ohio Wildlife Center, or training for an upcoming marathon - the L.A. Tammy wanted to become more knowledgeable as a volunteer, so she attended Columbus State Community College to achieve her goal of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician, which she became in November of 2010. In 2002 she started volunteering at a local animal shelter, where she discovered her passion for veterinary medicine and animal rescue. She’s originally from Los Angeles and moved to Ohio in 1993 to work for Limited Brands. In 2019, she agreed to become a part time technician with us, so you'll be seeing more of her! Tammy has been volunteering with us since May of 2012 – you may have seen her on Saturdays or the occasional weekday. She’s looking forward to meeting our incredible clients and their furry families! When she’s not with us at Berwick, Emily enjoys spending time with friends and family, shopping, and taking care of Tyson (pictured with her) and her chinchilla Gizmo. Emily enjoys furthering her education in the animal care field by working on new certifications, and by continuing to learn different ways to help our furry friends. She moved to Columbus in October, and started working with us November 1st. In addition to her RVT license, Emily is also certified in low stress handling.Įmily worked approximately one year for a veterinary clinic near her home, but while attending Bradford she had developed (luckily for us!) a strong desire to live in Columbus. After graduating in February of 2020, she passed her Veterinary Technician National Exam in October of that same year. After graduating from the Medina County Career Center’s Animal Care and Management program in 2018, she decided to further her education by pursuing her veterinary technician’s associate degree through Bradford Technical Institute, which was located in Columbus. ![]() She is excited to join our caring medical team, and is looking forward to helping serve you and your furry families!Įmily is originally from northern Ohio. Reed has strong interests in internal medicine and surgery. ![]() She also enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog Kipper, who she acquired in vet school.ĭr. In her free time, she likes to cook, play video games, and cheer for her hometown sports team (go Bengals and Reds!). Reed moved back to Columbus in 2022 and joined our Berwick team. After high school, it was time to pursue her dream – she attended college in Ohio to obtain her bachelor’s degree, and then went to The University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, completing her degree in 2018.Īfter practicing in Illinois for several years, Dr. She has always been fascinated and passionate about animals, though, and in high school volunteered at a local shelter. While growing up, the only pet that she was able to have was a fish, due to other family member’s allergies. Reed is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. Huter is very excited to join Berwick Animal Clinic and looks forward to serving you and your furry family members!ĭr. ![]() Being a Cleveland native, she is a big fan of both the Guardians and the Browns.ĭr. She has been participating in Pelotonia since 2013, and is a proud member of Team Buckeye. Huter enjoys cooking, baking, and road cycling. She also has one extra-special crazy cat whose name is Charlotte. Huter has three dogs - Sam, Evie, and Sophie. Huter has a strong interest in dermatology, surgery, and most importantly, building lasting relationships with the clients at Berwick Animal Clinic.ĭr. She graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015, and upon graduation joined our team at Berwick. After 5 years, she came to realize that her true passion was helping animals, so she returned to Ohio to pursue her education, and a career, in veterinary medicine. She graduated from Ohio University (go Bobcats!) in 2002, and taught high school math in California.
